Your browser encrypts your answers and letters before anything leaves. Only the encrypted version is stored.
The key stays with you
The key stays with you alone. It is that simple.
You choose what remains
Download your words and I erase the encrypted copy. If you choose nothing, I erase it after 30 days. The yearly ritual remembers the date, not what you wrote. Unless you choose to keep one sentence: your first deed, in your yearly reminder.
No model reads what you write
No model reads, scores, summarizes or answers what you write.
Frequently asked questions
Can anyone at Last Hour Experience read my stored words?
No. Several independent security audits have confirmed that this is technically impossible.
What do I ask of you at the threshold?
Your consent for me to temporarily store anything sensitive you write about. Rather not? Then you get a full refund before your first hour begins.
What happens if I make no choice?
You receive a warning on day 27. On day 30 I erase the encrypted copy automatically.
Are my answers or letters included in an email?
No. Your answers and letters never appear in an email. The one exception is yours to switch on: your first deed, quoted in the reminder emails you choose.
Can I erase my words sooner?
Yes. At any time, from your account, with one button.
Technical details (Nerd alert 🤓)
The working copy on your device is stored encrypted too; the key lives in your browser. Anyone who has your unlocked phone or laptop and opens the experience can still read it.
Finish the hour and that copy disappears from your device.
If you are signed in, a copy travels over an encrypted connection to the server, already encrypted with your key (AES-256-GCM); the server cannot open it.
You are notified when your words are ready, and you receive one warning on day 27 if you have not chosen yet.
Every other type of message can be turned off in Email preferences.
Your words never go to an advertising platform and are never used to train AI.
A Message for the World is separate from your private words: publishing requires a separate choice, and it can always be removed later.
Retention periods and your rights are explained in the privacy policy and the terms and conditions.
You should not have to take my word for it.
